Ashley will be participating in the first reading
of "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" by Stephen Earnhart. The former Director
of Production for Miramax will also direct the production.
The play is an adaptation of the novel by Haruki Murakami of the same name.
Murakami is a major Asian literary figure and according to the New York Times,
is poised to be the most well-read Japanese author outside of Japan ever.
The play will be a surreal, multi-media performance involving live performance,
choreography, film projection, and elements of Japanese theatre such as Noh mask
work and bunraku puppets.
Produced by Jennifer Costello, Senior V.P. of Theatrical Production for Clear Channel,
and Greg O'Connor, currently producing the feature film "Pride and Glory"
in New York starring Colin Farrell, Ed Norton, Nick Nolte, and Samantha Morton.
